Description. Integument black, antennae and legs black to brownish; basal ⅔ of elytra, metepisterna and urosternites orangish, humeri in two examples black. Head, except in dorsal differentiated area, densely punctulate to corrugate, clothed with short, sparse, black hairs. Genae subopaque, sparsely punctulate. Mandibles coarsely, deeply punctate. Antennal scape shiny, shallowly, sparsely punctulate; segments 3–11 opaque, subglabrous except for the long, flying hairs. Pronotum and sides of prothorax shiny, with coarse, sparse, microsculptured punctures and numerous long, erect, yellowish hairs. Prosternum coarsely, sparsely punctate; males with one large, opaque, denser punctate patch, with numerous, long, whitish hairs on each side in front of coxae. Mesosternum with coarse, dense punctures becoming finer and corrugate on intercoxal process; pubescence dense, whitish. Metasternum coarsely, sparsely punctate, with sparse, long, yellowish hairs. Scutellum glabrous, with a few, coarse punctures. Basal ⅔ of elytra with coarse, deep, subseriate punctures and moderately dense yellowish hairs; apical third more finely and densely punctate, clothed with brown hairs. Legs with long, erect, brown hairs. Urosternites sparsely, shallowly punctulate, with pubescence yellowish, sparse on disk; sides pale micropubescent. Fifth urosternite feebly sinuous at apex in male, truncate in female.

Measurements, in mm, respectively for male/female: total length, 9.2/7.9–9.5; prothorax length, 2.1/1.9–2.3; prothorax width, 1.7/1.5–1.8; elytral length, 5.9/5.2–6.2; humeral width, 2.0/1.7–2.2.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the type locality, French Guiana ( Guyane).

Types. Holotype male: Guyane, Piste Coralie , pk 7, 29.III.1989, (piégeage lumineux), M. A. Monné leg. ( MNHN) . Paratypes. Guyane: Piste des Compagnons , pk 2, 1 female, 8.VII.1987, (piégeage lumineux), Michel Duranton leg. ( MNHN) . Brasil. Para´ : Tucuruı´, 1 female, I.1980, B. Silva col. ( MNRJ) .
