Distribution. Worldwide.

Remarks. This species can be differentiated from other species of Balclutha by the colour pattern, shape of aedeagal base, and curvature of aedeagal shaft. Slight differences are observed among specimens, but whether these represent interspecific variation remains unknown. Webb & Vilbaste (1994) and Lu et al. (2013) recognized that the B. punctata complex comprises five valid species ( punctata , lineolata arhenana, tiaowena, uncinata) in the Oriental fauna. We interpret the Pakistani specimens examined as all belonging to B. punctata . Based on the figure given by Mahmood (1979) this species was previously recorded from Pakistan but no information was given by Mahmood on specimens examined. Here we provide the first detailed locality data for Balclutha punctata from Pakistan and provide photographs of the habitus.
