Puntioplites bulu (Bleeker, 1851) View in CoL
Puntioplites bulu ( Bleeker, 1851a) View in CoL : Parenti & Meisner, 2003: 41 (upper Belait).
Puntioplites waandersi View in CoL (non-Bleeker): Sulaiman & Shahdan, 2007: 22 (Tasek Merimbun). Remarks. The record of Puntioplites waandersii from Tasek Merimbun is possibly this species (Sulaiman &
Shahdan, 2007:22). North Bornean representatives of Puntioplites bulu appear more slender and lack the short dark
bars on their body. They are distinguished from Puntioplites waandersii in having 7 rows of scales (versus 9)
between the dorsal fin origin and lateral line, and 16 (versus 20) circumpeduncular scales (Kottelat et al., 1993:
42).
