Type Material. Holotype ♂: ‘ CHINA: W. Sichuan, Ya’ an Pref., Shimian Co., Xiaoxiang Ling , side-valley ab. Nanya Cun near Caluo , 11 km S Shimian, 1250 m, 7.VII.1999, leg. A. Pütz / HOLOTYPE (red), ♂, Syndicus sichuanicus sp. n., det. Yin & Zhou, 2016’ (cPüt). Paratype: 1 ♀: same data, except for ‘leg. M. Schülke / PARATYPE (yellow), ♀ ’ (cSch).
Diagnosis. Male. Length 3.02–3.05 mm; antennomere II distinctly shorter than III; pronotal disc coarsely punctate; aedeagus relatively slender, parameres much longer than median lobe. Female: spermatheca nearly oval, slightly elongate.
Description. See Jałoszyński (2008, as S. sinensis ), with illustrations of habitus and aedeagus.
Comparative Notes. Both specimens examined here, previously published as S. sinensis ( Jałoszyński 2008) , have a coarsely punctate pronotal disc ( Fig. 5D View Fig ) and relatively shorter antennomere II ( Fig. 5F View Fig ) in comparison to antennomere III. The male ( Fig. 5B View Fig ) has a slender aedeagus ( Jałoszyński 2008: figs 2–3), and the female has an oval, slightly elongate spermatheca. This new species is similar to S. sinensis by sharing similar body shape, proportions of the body parts, structure of the aedeagal endophallus, and shape of the spermatheca, but can be readily separated by the characters listed in the diagnosis section.
Distribution. China: Sichuan.
Etymology. The new species is named after the Sichuan Province where the type locality is situated.
