Regarding this species, Zodda (1934) writes: “ Specie dubbia, scoperta da Raddi presso Firenze e descritta da Corda, ma non più ritrovata né ivi, né altrove; né è stato possibile rintracciare gli esemplari autotipi ”. Müller (1906 -16) writes of never having seen the original specimen and adds that the description was done by Nees, with a specimen at hand.
