Etymology: bocainense = in reference to Serra da Bocaina, in whose national park the holotype was collected.

Deposition of type series. Holotype in MNRJ (not examined—destroyed by fire on 02.ix.2018).

Larva described. Yes ( Costa et al. 2009).
