Pseudotremia armesi Shear

Type locality: Neely Farm Cave, Athens, Mercer Co., WEST VIRGINIA. Male holotype, female paratype in MCZ. Neely Farm Cave, a small, relatively short and shallow cave just outside the limits of the town of Athens, is also the type and only locality for a troglobiotic springtail, Pseudosinella testa Christiansen & Bellinger 1980 .

Notes: This species is a troglophile; specimens taken in caves are paler in coloration and have somewhat reduced ocelli compared to those from epigean habitats. The species is evidently confined to Mercer County, but may be found eventually in adjacent Tazewell Co., Virginia.
