Diagnosis. Chnoodes rubra sp. nov. resembles C. brulei sp. nov. and C. cerasus sp. nov. in the color of the integument, but differs in the shape and size of the male genitalia and in the shape of the spermatheca.

Description. Male. Length 3.00– 3.38 mm, width 2.42–2.65 mm. Body rounded, with short fine yellowish pubescence. Integument of pronotum, scutellar shield and elytra orange-red, without spots; lateral border of pronotum slightly yellow, anterior border translucent ( Figs. 3A, D View FIGURE 3 ). Head, antennae and mouthparts orangeish ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ). Meso- and metaventrite brownish. Epipleuron orangeish, with slight excavations to receive femora. Legs with femora, tibiae and tarsi orangeish ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ). Abdomen with middle region of ventrites brownish.

Genitalia with tegmen, penis guide, phallobase and parameres symmetrical. Penis guide narrow, shorter than parameres, strongly tapered at apex, rounded ( Fig. 3E View FIGURE 3 ). Parameres articulated with phallobase, distant from each other, 2.5x longer than penis guide, strongly widened at apex, with long bristles along parameres ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 ). Penis sclerotized, J-shaped, with wide rounded apex, penis capsule T-shaped and slightly elongated ( Fig. 3G View FIGURE 3 ).

Female. Length 3.10–3.38 mm, width 2.56–2.70 mm. Similar to male. Genitalia with coxites longer than wide, subtriangular, 3.5x longer than wide; stylus mammiliform with short bristles ( Fig. 3H View FIGURE 3 ). Spermatheca short, Cshaped, without ramus and nodulus, with apex narrowed and mammiliform projection ( Fig. 3I View FIGURE 3 ).

Etymology. Latin, rubra = red; alluding to the general coloration.

Geographical Distribution. French Guiana (Roura, Saül, Matoury) ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ).
