T hailand: ―PENINSULAR. Nakhon Si Thammarat: Khao Luang National Park, 30 April 1918, A. F. G. Kerr 15532 (K).
Distribution: ―Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand (Peninsular).
Ecology: ―Evergreen forest or moist evergreen forest. Flowering and fruiting in March‒April.
Notes: ―This species is similar to L. chinensis but Lasianthus malaccensis has conspicuous and persistent stipules that are 1.5 mm long, broadly triangular and abruptly narrowed into puberulous apex, the calyx is campanulate-cupular 1.5‒2 mm long minutely 5-toothed, the drupes are subglobose, 5‒6 mm diameter, subglabrous with 4‒5 pyrenes. In contrast L. chinensis has triangular stipules that are 2‒3 mm long and pubescent, the calyx is elongated campanulate 5‒ 7 mm long with 4–6 orbicular reflexed lobes, the drupes are ovoid with longitudinal angles, 8 mm diameter, pubescent with 5‒6 pyrenes.
