Homalia webbiana (Mont.) Schimp.

H. webbiana was often mistaken with Neckera besseri , even considered same taxon ( Casas 1999, Düll 1979, Frahm 1983). However, nowadays they are considered separate species, easily recognizable by the dentate leaf margin in H. webbiana ( Cubero et al. 2001) . In Serbia, H. webbiana was reported from several karstic river sources ( Veljić et al. 1996). In Europe, it has mainly a Macaronesian distribution ( Guerra & Brugués 2014). Herbarium material was revised and renamed to N. besseri , hence H. webbiana should be excluded from the Serbian moss list.
