У Командорских островов встречен только у о-ва Беринга на глубинах от 10 до 140 м на скалистом грунте.

Р а с п р о с т р а н е н и е. Бореально-арктический вид. Обитает от моря Лаптевых и арктических берегов Канады до прол. Хуан-де-Фука (штат Вашингтон) и северных берегов Японии.
