Platygenia barbata (Afzelius, 1817)

( Fig. 6h View FIGURE 6 )

Distribution: ANG, BUR, CAM, CON, DOC, GAB, GBI, GHA, NIG, RCI, SLN.

Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) BAF, BIB, BOL, TOB.

Historic records:

— Bafatá (BAF), Bubaque (BOL), Catió (TOB) ( Brivio 1958);

— Cherobengue (?), Pandin (BIB) ( Gomes Alves 1959).

Material examined: Jemberem (Cambeque forest = Mato Cambeque) (11º 32´26.45´´ N, 15º 01´02.01´´ W, 15m alt.) (TOB), 13.VII.2009, 1 ♀, LT, A. Serrano leg., ASC GoogleMaps .

Remarks. The species is widespread throughout West and Central Africa being associated to the palm Elaeis guineensis and Borassus sp. ( Gomes Alves 1959; Antoine & Camiade 1995; Schoolmeesters 2019). Jerath & Unny (1965) gave a very scanty description of P. barbata larvae. The adult female was collected in Jemberem by LT in a fragment of moist primary forest (e.g. Fig. 2f View FIGURE 2 ). The specimen had several phoretic Pseudoscorpionida. Some ecological data were provided by Antoine & Camiade (1995). Joly (2018) provided biodiversity information (e.g. abundance, habitat preference) for GHA.
