( Figs. 160–169 View FIGURES 160–164 View FIGURES 165–169 )

Diagnosis. Frons one pair of longitudinal stripes extending to ocellar triangle and the other pair nearly triangular on outer margin; a blackish brown spot present between eye and base of antenna; mesonotum with a pair of black median stripes and a pair of short lateral stripes; two rows of acrostichal setulae strong (about six pairs); abdominal tergites 1–2 mostly yellow, with irregular yellow areas.

Description. MALE. Body length 4.8–5.4 mm, wing length 5.0– 5.5 mm. FEMALE: Unknown.

Head ( Fig. 160 View FIGURES 160–164 ) black, with grayish white pruinescence. Parafacial with dense grayish white pruinescence. Frons blackish gray, wider than long and parallel-sided, with two blackish brown longitudinal stripes, one pair of longitudinal stripes extending to ocellar triangle and the other pair nearly triangular on outer margin; ocellar triangle black, ocellar setae developed, longer than anterior fronto-orbital setae, extending to anterior margin of frons; anterior fronto-orbital setae reclinate, shorter than posterior fronto-orbital setae. Gena about 1/7 height of eye. Antennal scape blackish brown; first flagellomere about 1.7 times longer than high; arista black except brown basally, short plumose with longest setulae almost as long as 1/2 height of first flagellomere. A blackish brown spot present between eye and base of antenna. Proboscis and palpus black, with black setulae.

Thorax ( Fig. 163 View FIGURES 160–164 ) black, with dense gray pruinescence. Mesonotum with a pair of black median stripes and a pair of short lateral stripes; 0+3 dorsocentral setae; acrostichal setulae in six rows, two rows of acrostichal setulae strong (about six pairs); a pair of prescutellar setae, longer than the first post-sutural dorsocentral setae. One anepisternal seta, two katepisternal setae. Scutellum black, with one U-shape gray pruinose stripe. Legs black, base of tibia sometimes brownish yellow, tarsi dark yellow. Fore femur with eight posterior dorsal setae, seven posterior setae and eight posterior ventral setae; tibia with one dorsal preapical seta and one short apical ventral seta. Mid femur with six anterior setae and one apical posterior seta; mid tibia with one strong dorsal preapical seta and three strong apical ventral setae. Hind femur with one weak preapical anterior dorsal seta; hind tibia with one weak dorsal preapical seta and one short apical ventral seta. Wing ( Fig. 161 View FIGURES 160–164 ) hyaline, pale yellow except brown basally; subcostal cell brown apically; costa with 2nd (between R 1 and R 2+3), 3rd (between R 2+3 and R), and 4th (between R 4+5 and M 1) sections in proportion of 8.0: 2.2: 1.3; r-m beyond the middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 5.0: 3.2; ultimate section of CuA 1 about 1/5 of penultimate section. Haltere pale yellow, sometimes knob pale brown partly.

Abdomen ( Fig. 164 View FIGURES 160–164 ) brownish yellow, with sparse gray pruinescence; tergites 1–2 mostly yellow, with irregular yellow areas. Male genitalia ( Figs. 165–169 View FIGURES 165–169 ): syntergosternite circular with short setae dorsally. Epandrium broad, ventral apical angle with setae. Surstylus consisting of one anterior process and one posterior process; anterior process extending from ventral anterior angle of epandrium, tip slender; posterior process separated from epandrium, invisible in lateral view; a dumbbell-shaped sclerite present in front of cercus. Hypandrium narrow in the middle and broad on both sides. Postgonite short, tubular with short hairs, tip curved in lateral view. Phallus consisting of a pair of ventral sclerites and one dorsal sclerite, with three pairs of sclerotized spines and many membranous spines, base of phallus with one depression in lateral view; without concavity apically. Phallapodeme longer than phallus.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remarks. The arista of new species with longest setulae almost as long as 1/2 height of first flagellomere; mesonotum with two rows of strong acrostichal setulae (about six pairs); wing brown basally. These characteristics are different from those of known subgenera, therefore, this species cannot be classified into the known subgenera.
