Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from other known species of the sakaiella species group by the forewing having a broad basal fascia and a narrow median fascia.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 5–10 ) wingspan 7.5 mm–9.0 mm. Head with vertex and frons pale yellow, occiput black. Labial palpus with second segment pale yellow on inner surface, basal 2/3 yellow mixed with black scales and distal 1/3 pale yellow on outer surface, black at apex; third segment with basal 2/3 pale yellow, with a black ring at basal 1/3, distal 1/3 black. Antenna with scape pale yellow; flagellum pale yellow annulated with black dorsally, black ventrally. Thorax and tegula blackish brown. Forewing orange or golden yellow; basal fascia blackish brown, with two white lines: subbasal line extending from costal margin to dorsum, beyond this white line placed a white dot below costal margin, another line along outer margin slightly arched; median fascia ocherous brown mixed with black scales, running from about middle of costal margin obliquely outward to tornus, widened anteriorly and posteriorly, narrow and parallel medially, edged with a curved white line along both outer and inner margins; precostal spot quadrate, blackish brown, edged with white scales along both inner and outer margins, slightly touching median fascia, somewhat forming a semicircle surrounding a sub-ovate golden yellow spot at distal 1/3 of costal margin; distal patch blackish brown, from apex along termen to tornus; cilia deep grey mixed with blackish brown except yellow distally along termen. Hindwing and cilia greyish brown. Fore- and midlegs black, fore tibia and tarsus with pale yellow spots at outer side, tibia with tufted pale yellow scales at apex; mid tibia pale yellow at base, with long tufted pale yellow scales, tarsus with pale yellow spots; hindleg pale yellow ventrally, blackish grey dorsally, tarsus with pale yellow rings dorsally.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21–26 ). Uncus wide basally, separated from basal 2/5, forming two narrowly elongate triangular processes. Gnathos absent. Tegumen broad, separated from middle, slightly narrowed anteriorly. Valva rectangular, divided into two parts from about middle: dorsal part elongate rectangular, curved ventrad distally, with a tuft of strong setae distally, rounded apically, narrower and longer than ventral part; ventral part broad, dorsodistally arched and overlapped with dorsal part, with dense long setae extending from middle of ventral part to ventral margin and then along ventral margin to rounded apex. Sacculus broad, sub-rectangular. Saccus about 3/ 5 length of ventral margin of valva, wide at base, narrowed to basal 1/4, distal 3/4 much slender, apex narrowly rounded. Juxta widened from base to apex, concave at middle apically, forming two triangular posterolateral lobes pointed at apex. Aedeagus straight, longer than valva, with two curved sclerites; cornutus slender, spine-shaped, placed distally.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 32‒36 ). Apophyses anteriores about half length of apophyses posteriores. Lamela postvaginalis sub-rounded, concave in U shape on posterior margin, with heavily sclerotized edge along concavity, with fine spines and sparse setae posteriorly, with dense denticles on posterior margin. Ostium bursae semiovate. Antrum short, funnel-shaped. Ductus bursae about 2/5 length of corpus bursae, basal 2/5 membranous, distal 2/5 sclerotized. Corpus bursae elongate, posterior half narrow, anterior half enlarged roundly; signum consisting of two columnar processes, each basal plate dilated ovately.
Distribution. China (Taiwan).
Etymology. This epithet is from the Latin aureus and macularis, referring the semicircular golden yellow spot at distal 1/3 of the costal margin on the forewing.
