Indian records: Bombay ( Swinhoe 1885), throughout India ( Hampson 1896b), Calcutta ( Sevastopulo 1935), North India ( Rose & Dhillon 1980c), Andaman and Nicobar Island, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Orissa, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal ( Arora 2000), India (Chen et al. 2006), Jharkhand (Singh 2019), Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh ( Sondhi et al. 2021). Global records: South Africa, Ceylon, Burma, Java, Australia ( Hampson 1896b), widespread throughout the old world tropics and subtropics, in SE Asia from Burma, Thailand, W. Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, java, Bali, Sabah, Sarawak, Philippines. Lowland associated with ponds and lakes. ( Robinson et al. 1994), Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan ( Arora 2000), found throughout tropical and sub-tropical parts of the Old World. Morocco, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Angola, Congo, Nigeria, Togo, Côte D’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, The Gambia, Madagascar (D.
