572. Archernis fulvalis Hampson, 1899e: 711 View in CoL

Type locality: Sikhim [Sikkim, India], 1800 ft. Ceylon [Sri Lanka], Hambantota

Distribution. Indian records: Sikkim ( Gupta 1994). Global records: Ceylon, Hambantota ( Hampson 1899e).

Remark: Archernis fulvalis Hampson, 1913a is a primary junior homonym of Archernis fulvalis Hampson, 1899e . We therefore propose a replacement name Archernis polynesiae N. Singh & Mally , nom. nov. for the junior homonym of Hampson (1913a). The species epithet refers to Polynesia, the region from where this species was described.
