Type locality: Amboina [ Ambon Island, Indonesia]

Distribution. Indian records: Sikkim, Khasis, Nilgiris ( Hampson 1896b) , Darjeeling (West Bengal), Sikkim, Assam ( Gupta 1994), India ( Robinson et al. 1994), Assam (North Cachar Hills, Haflong, Diphu) ( Kirti & Sodhi 2001). Global records: Ceylon, Tenasserim, Amboina ( Hampson 1896b) , Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bali, Sarawak, Ambon, New Guinea, montane (600–1800 m) ( Robinson et al. 1994).
