Geographical distribution. Neotropical Region: Costa Rica and Brazil ( Diaz & Gallardo 2001). In Brazil it is distributed throughout the States of Amazonas, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo ( Guimarães et al. 2000a; Diaz & Gallardo 2001).

Hosts. Tephritidae : Ceratitis capitata ; Anastrepha striata ; A. bahiensis . Lonchaeidae : Neosilba spp. (in Diaz & Gallardo 2001).

Remarks. Aganaspis nordlanderi was described by Wharton (in Wharton et al. 1998) who remarked that this species shares several features with A. pelleranoi , suggesting that they are more closely related to each other than oriental species of Aganaspis Lin, 1987 . Diaz & Gallardo (2001) arrive to the same conclusion and suggested that the two species belong to a single group diferent from those from the Old World.
