Taxonomy. Original description: Barbus diplochilus Heckel, 1838: 53 , pl. 10, fig. 1 [Kashmir; syntypes: NMW 48820 View Materials (7)] .
Revisions. Bănărescu (1986: 148) as Crossocheilus latius diplochilus ; Sayyadzadeh et al. (2015b: 356) as Gonorhynchus diplochilus ; Kottelat (2016: 445).
Illustrations. Sayyadzadeh et al. (2015b: figs. 6-7) as Gonorhynchus adiscus .
