Type species: Zhengitettix hainanensis Liang, 1994 by monotype and original designation.
Remark. The description and differential diagnosis of this genus and the key to all known species were recently presented by Chen & Deng, 2022. The main morphological characters for distinguished between species in this genus include coloration of the body, the situation of antennal socket (on the level of lower margin of eyes or below), situation of the lateral ocelli (situated on the lower margin of eyes or below), shape of prozona (transversal or longitudinal), median carina of pronotum in profile (almost straight or convex anteriorly), shape of process of the lower part of lateral lobe of pronotum (triangular or with short/long spines on each side that curved upward, backward or directed laterally), hind tarsi (white or light brown), armament of female subgenital plate (smooth or with shallow longitudinal only/transversal only or both creases on apical part and basal part), and coloration of sternite (black or brown). These reliable characters were used from numerous publications of this genus ( Zheng & Jiang, 2002; Zheng et al., 2005; Liang et al., 2007; Zheng et al., 2010; Deng et al., 2010; Storozhenko, 2013, Dawwrueng & Doodduem, 2014, Chen & Deng, 2022).
