Record as epibiont on cnidarians: The species was reported under the name Lernaeophrya capitata found as epibiont on Cordylophora caspia (named as C. lacustris ) from brackish waters near Bordeaux, France ( Kahl 1934).

Record on other hosts/subtrata: Manden et al. (2004) found this species (as Lernaeophrya capitata ) at artificial substrates (glass slides) exposites in Weeks Bay, Alabama, USA.

Remark: Dovgal (2002) transferred this species into the genus Dendrosoma .
