Diagnosis. Among four species of the magnum -group, P. longjiangense and P. magnum have developed eyes with black rings around. P. longjiangense can be distinguished from P. magnum by fully developed eyes ( Fig. 25A View FIGURE 25 ) and Fe III–IV without dorsal spines.

Description. ♀ (from Sakhalin Island, Russia, 9 Aug 2001). Carapace orange-brown, 0.90 mm wide, eyes normal, PME–PME = 1.0 ( Fig. 25A View FIGURE 25 ). Abdomen brown-grey. Fe I–II with one dorsal spine, Fe I with one prolateral spine. Ti I with one prolateral spine, Ti I–II with one retrolateral spine. Tm Mt I = 0.30, Mt I/CW = 1.17.

Epigynum with lateral wings ( Fig. 25C View FIGURE 25 ). Copulatory ducts are very long, with ascending, descending, and again ascending part ( Figs. 25D–F View FIGURE 25 ).

Ƌ (together with female). The AP is shorter than wide, with a convex upper edge, the space between AP and PA very narrow. Embolus very long with a broad velum. Velum with a pigmented spot ( Fig. 25B View FIGURE 25 ).

Variation. Ƌ ♀. Carapace 0.84–0.96 mm wide. Tm Mt I = 0.27–0.31, Mt I/CW = 1.10–1.17 (n = 6).

Ecology. Under stones on river banks ( Eskov & Marusik 1993), in mosses and leaf litter ( Tanasevitch 2012).
