Distribution. Holarctic: Central Europe, Siberia, Nearctic Region (nominative ssp.), SE Europe ( ssp. asperatus Schaufuss ), East Europe, Middle Asia, West Siberia ( ssp. flavidulus Zumpt ) ( Alonso-Zarazaga 2013)

Material examined. 146 spececimens ( CHSU, DMLU, SIZK, ZIN, NSPU, ZMUK).

Biology. Shrublands, swamps, floodplains. Adults occur III–IX. On Salicaceae ( Mazur 2002) . Larva feeds on roots, imago on leaves

Notes. L.palustris palustris and L.palustris asperatus are known in Ukraine but Alonso-Zarazaga (2013a) recorded only L. palustris flavidulus . Examination of comprehensive material from Ukraine revealed three sympatric variations of L. palustris . All of those correspond to L. palustris flavidulus (Zumpt 1936) . Some specimens from Dunaiski Plavni Nature Reserve (Odesa Prov.) have indistinct or hardly visible lateral strip. Apperantly, it is intermediate form sharing characters of both L. palustris asperatus and L. palustris flavidulus .
