Diagnosis. This species is distinct in having the long epiphallus on the posterodorsal margin of the basiphallus, which is usually not found in the Palearctic species of this genus. The very short and wide male 5th abdominal sternite is also characteristic of this species. A medium-sized or rather small species; body black in ground color, apex of scutellum reddish yellow, with dense gray-white pruinosity throughout; 2 presutural acrostichal setae; 3 postsutural dorsocentral setae; 3 katepisternal setae; anatergite bare; apical scutellar setae absent; tibiae yellowish; wing without brown tinge along r-m crossvein.

Description. Body length: 5.1–8.8 mm.

Male. Head with dense pale yellowish-white pruinosity, grayish white on occiput; frontal vitta velvety brown; antenna dark brown, apical portion of pedicel and base of postpedicel pale reddish brown; palpus reddish yellow, very weakly darkened on basal portion. Frons at narrowest point 0.07–0.09 of head width; frontal vitta strongly widened anteriorly, most narrowed at posterior 1/3, nearly linear or at most 1/2 as wide as fronto-orbital plate; frons in lateral view about 1.5 times as long as face; parafacial only slightly wider than postpedicel at mid height (sub- equal in width in profile); gena 0.33–0.36 of eye height (0.22–0.24 in profile); lower margin warped forward, only slightly extending beyond base of vibrissa. Inner vertical setae rather fine, crossed apically and straight or weakly directed forward, about 1/2 as long as eye height; 12–16 frontal setae, upper setae fine and lowest seta nearly level with middle of pedicel, a row of 3–4 strong setae present outside row of frontal setae below level of base of antenna; ocellar setae fine, about 2/3 as long as inner vertical seta; parafrontal with 1–3 rows of fine, short black hairs outside row of frontal setae, not descending below lowest frontal seta; occiput with 2–3 rows of black hairs behind long postocular setae. Antenna falling short of lower margin of face by about length of pedicel; postpedicel 2.4–2.6 times as long as wide, 2.0–2.2 times as long as pedicel; arista with 2nd aristomere at most 1.5 times as long as wide, 3rd aristomere thickened on its basal 1/3. Prementum short, about as long as postpedicel; palpus nearly cylindrical, only slightly widened near apex, subequal in length to pedicel and postpedicel together.

Thorax black in ground color, apex of scutellum narrowly reddish yellow; scutum with thin grayish, somewhat brownish, pruinosity, more grayish and denser on postpronotal lobe, notopleural area and intra-alar region; pleura with thin dark grayish pruinosity; presutural area of scutum with 3 broad vittae, median vitta long rectangular and lateral vittae long triangular; postsutural scutum with 3 broad longitudinal vittae, these vittae usually fused anteriorly and forming a large rectangular band on anterior portion. One posthumeral seta; 2 presutural and 2 postsutural acrostichal setae; 3 postsutural dorsocentral setae; scutellum with dense long suberect hairs, without distinct discal setae and with 4 pairs of long and strong marginal setae, all setae more than 2 times as long as scutellum; apical setae absent; distance between bases of subapical scutellar setae about 2/3 that between basal and subapical setae; 3 katepisternal setae; anepimeral seta extending to posterior margin of lower calypter; anatergite bare. Wing hyaline; calypteres whitish, margined with pale yellowish; 2nd costal sector about 1/3 as long as 3rd and slightly longer than 4th; bend of vein M roundly angulated, without an appendage; length of vein M from dm-cu crossvein to bend about 1.5 times distance between bend and wing margin; last section of vein CuA 1 about 1/2 as long as dm-cu crossvein. Legs black, tibiae reddish yellow, darkened basally and apically on ventral portion; pulvilli pale yellowish brown; fore tibia with preapical anterodorsal seta slightly longer than mid-dorsal seta, and with 3–4 posterior setae; mid tibia with 3–5 anterodorsal, 2–3 posterodorsal and 1 ventral setae; hind tibia with a row of anterodorsal setae of irregular length, 3–5 posterodorsal and 2 ventral setae; claws and pulvilli long, subequal in length to 5th tarsomere.

Abdomen black in ground color, with dense tessellate grayish whitish pruinosity on 3rd to 5th tergites throughout. Hairs erect, dense and long on entire surface of tergites and sternites, becoming sparser posteriorly; syntergite 1+2 without median marginal setae, with a pair of lateral marginal setae; 3rd tergite with 3–4 strong median discal, 1 pair of median marginal setae and 1 lateral marginal seta; 4th tergite with 3–4 strong median discal and a row of strong marginal setae; 5th tergite with regular rows of strong discal and marginal setae; 5th sternite short and wide, with round projection on inner posterior corner of posterior lobe, median cleft occupying about posterior 2/5 of sternite, posteromedian membranous area small, rhomboid in form.

Terminalia: 6th tergite, syntergosternite 7+8 and epandrium with thin grayish pruinosity; 6th tergite about 1/5 as long as syntergosternite 7+8, bearing 4–6 fine setae on posteromedian margin, narrowly separated from syntergosternite 7+8; epandrium without a distinct posterior invagination; cerci broad in dorsal view, median longitudinal suture indistinct, widened at basal 1/4, then weakly narrowed to posterior 1/3 and well narrowed to apex, apex with weak incision, in lateral view nearly straight, apex weakly pointed; surstylus narrow, weakly curved dorsally in apical 1/ 3 in lateral view, with many long hairs on ventral portion, without spines at apex; hypandrial arms rather short; pregonite narrow, posterior margin curved outward, with several long and short hairs; postgonite narrow, curved anteriorly; epiphallus long, inclined posteriorly; basiphallus rather long, curved dorsally; distiphallus nearly rectangular in lateral view, with many spinules.

Female. Differs from male as follows: frons at narrowest point 0.26–0.29 of head width; frons in profile about 1.3 times as long as face; parafacial slightly wider than postpedicel (4/ 5 in profile); inner vertical seta subequal in length to eye height; outer vertical seta about 3/5 as long as inner vertical seta; 1 outwardly directed prevertical seta, about 2/3 as long as outer vertical seta; ocellar seta slightly shorter than prevertical seta; 2 subequally long outwardly-directed orbital setae, slightly longer than outer vertical seta; 8–10 frontal setae, two rows of setae present below antennal base outside row of frontal setae; postpedicel of antenna about 1.7 times as long as pedicel; legs with claws and pulvilli shorter than 5th tarsomere; abdominal hairs slightly shorter than in male, 3rd and 4th tergites with 2 or 3 median discal setae. Terminalia: rather short; 6th tergite divided into short and high hemitergites, with a row of strong setae on posterior margin; 6th sternite almost 2 times as long as 6th tergite, with some short hairs on posterior 1/3 and long setae on posterior margin; 7th tergite divided into two hemitergites, small, nearly elliptic, slightly longer than 6th hemitergite, with a row of short hairs on posterior margin; 7th sternite nearly quadrate in ventral view, about 2/3 as long as 6th sternite, with several rather strong setae on posterior margin; 8th tergite absent; 8th sternite short and rather wide, with several fine hairs; epiproct absent, replaced by a pair of strong setae.
