Sciadonus longiventralis Nielsen, 2018: 182 (type locality off New South Wales)
Holotype. NMV A 5672 About NMV , male, 70 mm SL, off southern NSW, 35°00.00’S, 151°16.30’S to 34°54.42’E, 151°13.36’E, RV Franklin, st. FR5/86, 5 m otter trawl, 1100 m, 15 July 1986.
Diagnosis. Sciadonus longiventralis differs from the other four Sciadonus species by the following combination of characters: No distinct black spots dorsally and along midbody; dorsal fin rays 87; precaudal vertebrae 39; pelvic fin length 3.5 % SL; predorsal length 28.5 % SL.
Size. Only known from 70 mm holotype.
Distribution ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Sciadonus longiventralis is known from the holotype trawled off southern NSW at 1100
m.
