Description of Pseudomonas qingdaonensis AS 279

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are pale brown colored after incubation for 3 days ion on R2A at 28°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase. D-Glucose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, and adipic acid are not. Strain AS 279 (= NIBRBAC000509506) was isolat- ed from a soil at Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
