Description of Haliea salexigens HMG View in CoL 3484

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are cream colored after incubation for 7 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase. Adipic acid and malic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3484 (= NIBRBAC000509564) was isolated from a soil sample at Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Republic of Korea.
