Description of Alteromonas stellipolaris HMG View in CoL 3253
Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are cream colored after incubation for 2 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, and urease. D-Glucose and potassium gluconate are utilized as sole carbon sources; while L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3253 (= NIBRBAC000509541) was isolated from a soil sample at Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
