Description of Brevundimonas abyssalis HMG 3453

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and light yellow after incubation for 5 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for cytochrome oxidase, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase; but negative for urease, arginine dihydrolase, nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, gelatin hydrolysis, and indole production. Malic acid is utilized as a sole carbon source; while arabinose, glucose, mannose, mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, capric acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3453 (= NIBRBAC000509559) was isolated from a seawater sample at Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Republic of Korea.
