Yanosmylus Ren in Ren et al., 1995 View in CoL
Type species. Yanosmylus rarivenatus Ren in Ren et al., 1995: 101 ( China) ( Early Cretaceous ) .
Comments. Yanosmylus is described from a single fragmentary hind wing. The size of the wing is very small (8.0 mm), with simple venation and is unusually small for an osmylid. The branching pattern of the venation presented by Ren et al. (1995) is difficult to reconcile with any group of Osmylidae , and it exhibits few of the diagnostic characteristics of the family that would place it there. At this stage we consider Yanosmylus as incertae sedis in Neuroptera .
