Gryposmylus Krüger, 1913a View in CoL View at ENA
( Figs 27–30 View FIGURE 27 View FIGURE 28 View FIGURE 29 View FIGURE 30 )
Type species. Chrysopa pubicosta Walker,1860: 183 (by original designation).
Diagnosis. Three ocelli present; antennae less than FW length; wings ovoid, hyaline with dark markings; FW costal margin relatively broad basally, subcostal veinlets simple with occasional irregular forking, basal 6-7 veinlets arranged sub-radially; FW RP stem short, RP1 originating at, or after fork, of M vein; both wings with two distinct gradate series divergent in orientation; FW with CuA with fewer branches than CuP.
Comments. Gryposmylus is closely related to Lysmus ( Winterton et al., 2017) and differs only slightly in wing features such as the shape of the costal area and the orientation of the gradate series; the shape and orientation of the basal subcostal veinlets appears to be diagnostic for the genus. Winterton & Wang (2016) recently revised the genus, describing a second species.
Included species.
