Poekilosoma ornatum ( Dalman, 1823) View in CoL
( Figs. 1–6 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 )
Prionus ornatus Dalman, 1823: 62 View in CoL .
Poekilosoma ornatum View in CoL ; Audinet-Serville, 1832: 185; Monné, M. A., 2006: 25 View Cited Treatment (cat.); Monné, M. L. et al., 2010: 250 (distr.). Poecilosoma ornatum ; Laporte, 1840: 411
Cerambyx (Lissonotus) gagatinus Germar, 1824: 504 View in CoL . Syn. Nov. Rachidion gagatinum View in CoL ; Audinet-Serville, 1834: 56; Monné, M. A., 2005: 637 (cat.). Rhachidion gagatinum View in CoL ; Germar in Guérin-Méneville, 1839: 330. Ceroctenus gagatinus ; White, 1853: 58.
The male specimen of Cerambyx (Lissonotus) gagatinus Germar, 1824: 504 View in CoL , with the labels Brasil, Olfers, (Acc. 17998) ( Figure 1 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ), is herein designated as the lectotype ( Figure 1 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ) in order to stabilize the taxonomy and facilitate further identifications of this species; 14 male specimens with the same data are herein designated as paralectotypes.
The pattern of coloration of the 14 specimens designated as paralectotypes is highly variable, 7 of them are dorsally shining black, as the lectotype, 2 have the distal half of the elytra ornated with large pale yellow transverse band ( Figure 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ), 2 with two pale yellow patches, one large triangular in the basal half and a second one transversal in the distal half ( Figure 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ), and 3 with the elytra partially black and partially reddish brown ( Figure 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ). Two females ( Figures 5, 6 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ), nontypes, are photographed to show the colors patterns.
For nearly 200 years, Cerambyx (Lissonotus) gagatinus Germar, 1824 View in CoL (today in Rachidion View in CoL , Cerambycinae , Trachyderini View in CoL ) remained unidentified. The examination of the 15 male specimens (designated here as lectotype and 14 paralectotypes) allows us to propose the synonymy.

Paralectotypes: 14 males, same labels ( Figures 2–4 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 – 4 ): “Hist. Coll. ( Coleoptera ) / Nr. 17998 / Ceroctenus / gagatinus Germar / Brasil v. Olf. / Zool. Mus. Berlin” and “ PARALECTOTYPE / Poekilosoma ornatum ( Dalman, 1823) / des. Monné & Monné 2015” ( ZMHB).
