Genus Argyrophorodes Marion, 1956 View in CoL

Type species Nymphula luteivittalis Mabille, 1880 View in CoL .

A genus of fewer than ten species, all described hitherto from Madagascar. One of the chief characters described by Marion occurs only in the males, but only females have been found in Africa; however the long maxillary palpus and wing pattern suggest this generic placement.

The corpus bursae of the female genitalia is without signa. No males of the African species have been available for study. Although there are over 30 specimens of angolensis sp. n. the lack of males raises questions about whether they might be parthenogenetic.
