Imago (Fig. 13): Wingspan 18–23mm. Head whitish, labial palpus whitish, segment 2 fuscous on outer side; antenna pale fuscous. Thorax white mixed fuscous. Forewing whitish with some fuscous suffusion; an obscure irregular dark fuscous postmedian fascia containing a dark-ringed white discal spot, fascia darker edged on outside; a slightly wavy subterminal line; terminal cilia with a sequence of fuscous spots. Hindwing whitish; a partial oblique and irregular dark fuscous median fascia; an irregular fuscous subterminal fascia; a fine wavy subterminal line; cilia as forewing. Abdomen banded fuscous and whitish.
Male genitalia (Fig. 90): Uncus spatulate, curved downwards, conspicuous setae from sides of base, gnathos spatulate, 2/3 length of uncus; valva long, slightly narrower in middle, process near base very small and irregular; anellus with curved sides. Aedeagus simple, weakly sclerotised towards tip.
Female genitalia (Fig. 140): Ostium narrow, antrum in the shape of a tall cone, ductus long and slender widening before corpus, corpus bursae spherical, signa comprising a pair of weakly sclerotised longitudinal ridges. Overall length of bursae about equal to that of abdomen.
Tympanal organs: Venulae long, waisted near ramus tympani.
Diagnosis: Distinguished by the dark-circled white discal spot on the forewing.
Biology: Unknown, but likely to be the same as the nominate subspecies.
Distribution: Morocco. The nominate subspecies occurs throughout much of the Palaearctic region.
