Syntypes. Three males ( NHMUK), Casa Pangue , Ensenada, and Puerto Varas, Chile ; two males ( USNM), Castro , Chile .
Distribution. Chile: Región de Los Lagos: Llanquihue Province (Casa Pangue, Ensenada, Puerto Varas), Chiloé Province (Castro).
References. Stuardo, 1946: 105 (cat., Trichina View in CoL ); Smith, 1967: 15 (cat.); Pont, 1995: 90 (typ.); Sinclair & Cumming, 2000: 181 (tax., Neotrichina View in CoL ).
Remarks. Collin (1933) cited eight males (all syntypes) and added comments on additional two males and two females (from Mechuque island, Ensenada and Puerto Varas), but pointed some morphological differences. There are three syntypes missing.
