Gauromydas autuorii: Wilcox et al., 1989: 105 (n. comb.); Papavero & Artigas, 1990: 122 (cat.); Papavero, 2009: 11 (cat.).

Diagnosis. Antenna slightly longer than head width; postpedicel mostly black; proximal portion of postpedicel reddish and about as long as distal portion ( d’Andretta 1951). Scutum velvety-black with four discrete white pruinose stripes. Male hind femur 1.6 times wider than hind tibia. Hind tibia with well-developed ventral keel and apical spur. Hind tarsomere 1 2.6 times longer than wide, and 1.7 times longer than tarsomere 5. Wing membrane opaque orange basally, yellow transparent apically; alula higher than wide. T1 and T4 black, remaining tergites and sternites with strong metallic blue. T1 golden setulose, remaining with black setulae. Epandrial lamellae trapezoidal; external posterior extremity acute, but not prolonged as a spine ( d’Andretta 1951, fig. 103); phallus with distinct dorsal crest but with inconspicuous lateral projections ( d’Andretta 1951, fig. 152). Female S10 poorly sclerotized medially; sclerite at base of spermathecal ducts narrower than cerci ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 H). Length: 23–25 mm.

Type material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂. ARGENTINA. Misiones, xi.1927, Parker col. ( USNM). PARATYPE. BRAZIL. Mato Grosso do Sul: Maracaju (1 ♀, MZUSP).
