Type host. Cryptomeria japonica D. Don (Taxodiaceae) , presently considered as belonging to Cupressaceae family (Tropicos 2020).
Type locality. Piracicaba (24°36’41”S, 47°53’23”W), São Paulo, Brazil GoogleMaps .
Relationship to host plant. Vagrants, causing no apparent symptoms ( Navia & Flechtmann 2000a).
Remark. Type species in the genus Glossilus .
Type host plant status. Exotic tree, cultivated as an ornamental species used for the composition of landscaping of mountainous regions ( Lorenzi et al. 2003).
