Type host. Pinus pinea L. ( Pinaceae ).
Type locality. Marciana Marina , Isola d’ Elba, Livorno, Italy .
Host plant and locality reports in Brazil. On Pinus oocarpa Schiede (Pinaceae) : Brasília (Jardim Botânico) ( Flechtmann & Navia 1998) Distrito Federal.
Relationship to host plants. Vagrants ( Castagnoli 1973).
Type host plant status in Brazil. Exotic tree, cultivated as an ornamental for landscape use, being particularly suitable for coastal regions of southern Brazil. Also used for afforestation of coastal dunes ( Lorenzi et al. 2003) .
Additional host plant status in Brazil. P. oocarpa —naturalized tree, occurring in Cerrado and Mata Atlântica biomes ( Gaglioti 2020). Widely cultivated in the Southeastern region for the production of wood and also as an ornamental for landscape use ( Lorenzi et al. 2003).
