Type host. Laurus nobilis L. ( Lauraceae ).
Type locality. Italy .
Report in Brazil. Campinas, collected by Dr. J. Mineiro (in this paper, specimens deposited at the mite collection in ESALQ, USP), São Paulo, Brazil.
Relationship to host plant. Bud mites, found in large buds; cause flower distortion and hypertrophy ( Canestrini & Massalongo 1893).
Remark. First report in Brazil.
Type host plants status. Exotic tree, cultivated as a seasoning plant, used in landscaping ( Lorenzi et al. 2003).
