Type host. Laguncularia racemosa (L.) Gaerten ( Combretaceae ).

Type locality. Ipojuca (Maracaipe mangrove) (08°32’24”S, 35°00’27”W), Pernambuco, Brazil GoogleMaps .

Relationship to host plant. Pouch galls, 1-2 cm in diameter, which bulge on both sides of leaves; galls open on upper leaf surface by a small central orifice; there is a dense abaxial erineum (Flechtmann et al. 2007).

Remarks. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plant status. Native mangrove shrub or tree, not endemic, occurring in Amazônia and Mata Atlântica biomes (Ribeiro et al. 2020).
