Diagnosis: This species is distinguished from its congeners by the pronounced carinae on its elytra with 4–5 rows of deep, open depressions between each. It can be distinguished from C. fimbriatum ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ) and C. obscurum ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ) by its simple erect elytral setae and from C. adustum ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ) by its larger size, the more discrete light and dark patches of coloration on its elytra, and its more strongly transverse pronotum.

Description. Body small, compact, subovate, convex; mottled tan and brown with a slight sheen. Length (anterior of pronotum to apex of elytra) 2.23–3.13 mm.

Head completely covered with light tan, depressed, ovoid scales; pronounced superantennal carinae, with a small number of recumbent, apically expanded, ligulate setae; antennae stout, antennomeres 1–10 densely squamous, apical antennomere with simple setae, antennomeres 1–4 and 11 slightly longer than wide, others subequal; clypeus distinct; labrum with short erect orange setae apically; frons with moderately long ligulate scales pointing toward middle.

Pronotum covered with densely matted setae, short, erect setae protruding from deep cavities within matted setation, dorsally truncate, bifurcate; two shallow anterolateral depressions; medial cavity shallow, broad, extending about ½ total length and about 1/3 width of pronotum, borders rounded; two posterolateral cavities on each side shallow.

Elytra: Setation silvery tan-gray with large distinct black patches, background color dark brown; surface densely covered in small scoop-shaped scales; basal ¼ of anterolateral margin with row of very long bristly setae; five highly prominent longitudinal carinae extending length of each elytron, including one at suture, each carina with one row of very short truncate setae; ~4 rows of deep, open depressions between carinae.

Ventral Surface: Ventral part of pro-, meso, and, metathorax, legs, and abdominal ventrites with scales similar to elytra.

Etymology: The name “inca” is from the beach la Caleta del Inca near the collection site of the holotype.
