Native: ASIA-TROPICAL - Indo-China: Cambodia [probably native]; northernVietnam [probably native]; Malesia: Philippines.

Cultivated: widely cultivated.

Field Infestation: Satoh et al. 1985: One B. latifrons was recovered out of 89 L. chinensis fruits imported as air baggage into Narita airport in July, 1983 (Tokyo, Japan).

Listing Only: Liquido et al. 1994 (note, however, that this paper includes the comment: “R. Drew [Queensland Dept. of Primary Industries, personal communication] contends that this is an erroneous record, probably based on misidentification of B. dorsalis ”); White and Elson-Harris 1992 (“a doubtful record”).
