Diagnosis. Mandibles yellowish-brown with a row of small teeth at apex; flagellum yellowish-brown, 0.6× as long as width of mesoscutum, F4 0.6× as long as wide, apex of clava pointed ( Figs 1 View FIGURES 1–6 , 46 View FIGURES 44–50 ); frons between scrobes and eyes and vertex ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 76–83 ) with strong reticulation; occipital margin with an edge behind ocellar triangle ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 76–83 ); mesoscutum and mesoscutellum with same reticulation ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25–30 ); mesoscutellum convex with purplish tinges; dorsellum slightly convex with very lateral parts and medioposterior part concave, smooth and shiny; fore wing with five setae in apico-dorsal part of costal cell, completely hyaline ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–6 ); fore and mid coxae black ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–6 ); gaster ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25–30 ) 1.7× as long as wide with apex pointed; Gt 1 0.4× as long as length of gaster, smooth, posterior margin slightly curved forwards; Gt 6 0.2× as long as length of gaster with anterior part 1.7× as wide as width of posterior part, posterior margin straight with sharp edge.

Distribution. U.S.A. (District of Columbia (Girault 1917), North Carolina ( Peck 1963), Iowa (new record).

Hosts. Unidentified Pyralidae (Lepidoptera) on Quercus (Girault 1917) .

Material. Non-type material (1♀, in NHMUK): USA, Iowa, Audubon Co., 16.viii.1952 (det. Burks 1953) .
