Branches suberect to procumbent, woody at base. Flowering stems 5-15 cm, sometimes branched, hairy all round. Leaves up to 17 x 9 mm, broadly ovate or rhombic-ovate to suborbicular, petiolate, with distinct marginal veins, glabrous to slightly hairy, ciliate at base. Inflorescence up to 7 cm, capituliform to cylindrical. Bracts similar to the leaves. Calyx 4-5- 5 mm, subcylindrical; upper teeth up to 2 mm, narrowly lanceolate, ciliate. Corolla 8-9 mm, purple. 2n = 28. • Mountains of W. & C. Romania. Rm.
