Koli & Muley (2012) misspelled this taxon as Diaphanosoma brachyarus .

Remarks. D. brachyurum s.str. is a valid species described Eastern Prussia, Poland now ( Liévin 1848). In reality, this is a complex of cryptic species with confused taxonomy ( Korovchinsky 2004) and the Indian populations need to be revised.

Distribution. Widely distributed in the northern hemisphere.
