Type. Female holotype from Caracaraí, Estação Ecológica Niquiá, Roraima, Brazil [01°49’N, 61°07’W], 05.X.2000, L. Mestre ( IBSP 43059 View Materials ). Paratype: two females from Parque Nacional das Emas, Mineiros, Goiás, Brazil [17°34’S, 52°32’W], 2 ♀, 10.XII.2004, F. Queiroga ( DZUB 3395 ) GoogleMaps .
Etymology. The specific name is a noun and refers to the type locality.
Diagnosis. The females of T. caracarai sp. nov. ( Fig. 119) resemble those of T. senilis ( Fig. 26), T. velox ( Fig. 60) and T. caxiuana sp. nov. ( Fig. 92) in the triangular shape of the anterior projection of the middle field of the epigynum, but can be distinguished by a strong and deep lateral excavation of MF ( Figs 119, 120) and by the elongated and folded copulatory ducts ( Figs 121, 122).
Description. Female (Holotype, Caracaraí, Roraima, Brazil, IBSP 43059). Total length 9.04. Carapace 4.38 long, 3.99 wide, light brown with irregular black striations laterally; fovea marked. Clypeus dark brown, 0.36 high. Anterior eye row slightly procurved, 0.96 wide; posterior recurved, 1.54 wide. Eye diameters, interdistances, and median ocular quadrangle: AME 0.18, ALE 0.16, PME 0.21, PLE 0.20; AME-AME 0.18, AME-ALE 0.16, PME- PME 0.32, PME-PLE 0.34, OQA 0.52, OQP 0.76, OQH 0.54. Chelicerae light brown with a median dark brown band. Sternum yellow, with scattered setae; 2.15 long, 2.08 wide. Labium light brown, 0.74 long, 0.66 wide. Legs yellow, ventrally dark brown from metatarsi to tarsi, relative length: II-IV-I-III, I—femur 5.81/ patella-tibia 7.88/ metatarsus 5.06/ tarsus 1.99/ total 20.74; II—6.22/ 8.05/ 5.22/ 2.07/ 21.56; III—4.73/ 5.39/ 3.73/ 1.82/ 15.67; IV—5.97/ 7.47/ 5.05/ 2.57/ 21.06. Ventral pairs of macrosetae on tibiae: I-4; II-4; III-3; IV-3. Superior tarsal claw with nine teeth and inferior with one tooth ( Fig. 124). Abdomen 5.32 long, light brown, with scattered setae; dorsum with strong dark brown bristles anteriorly. Venter light brown, with scattered setae. Epigynum with strong and deep lateral excavation on the middle field ( Fig. 120). Copulatory ducts narrow, slender and folded ( Figs 121, 122). Base of spermathecae enlarged ( Fig. 123) and head of spermathecae inconspicuous in dorsal view ( Fig. 123).
