Type species: Scymnus flavifrons Melsheimer, 1847 ; by subsequent designation of Gordon (1976).
Distribution by States in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Pernambuco (oceanic archipelago of Fernando de Noronha and continental territory); Bahia; Alagoas.
Species from the Northeast Region of Brazil. Scymnobius obscurus ( Mulsant, 1850) ; Scymnobius pernambucensis Giorgi & González, 2014 .
Comments. There are eleven species of Scymnobius in South America, three in Brazil, with S. obscurus and S. pernambucensis occuring in NE Brazil ( Gordon & González 2002; Giorgi & González 2014).
