2.5.3 Coniochaeta krabiensis View in CoL
Coniochaeta krabiensis View in CoL formed a monophyletic group with C. tetraspora View in CoL and another new species ( C. arenariae View in CoL ) in the same study ( Dayarathne et al. 2020a). Morphologically, C. krabiensis View in CoL fits within the generic description of Coniochaeta View in CoL with its two-layered peridium, cylindrical asci with an apical apparatus and dark brown, ellipsoidal ascospores with a germ slit which are arranged uniseriately in the asci ( GarcÍa et al. 2006). Coniochaeta krabiensis View in CoL differs from C. tetraspora View in CoL in having longer, narrower, 8-spored asci and smaller ascospores ( Cain 1961).
