Limnia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 684 View in CoL . Type species: Limnia limbata Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (by designation of Cresson, 1920) [= Limnia unguicornis ( Scopoli, 1763) View in CoL ].
Diagnosis. Wing hyaline with distinct reticulated pattern. External characters somewhat similar to those of Euthycera but anepisternum and anepimeron with setulae or setae. Mesonotum with distinct longitudinal stripes. Subalar setae present.
Remarks. Of the 22 described species, 5 are restricted to the Palearctic Region and 17 are restricted to the Nearctic Region.
Before our study, Limnia had never been recorded from China. We determined 3 males and 5 females of Limnia unguicornis ( Scopoli, 1763) from Xinjiang (Palearctic Region of China). Limnia unguicornis is the only species of Limnia known from China at present.

VIII. 21, Chunpei Hong ( IZCAS) ; 1♀, CHINA, Xinjiang, Jichang , 1988. VII. 2, Ming Wang ( IZCAS) .
