Type-locality. Alvorada d’Oeste, road BR–429, km 87, line 64, state of Rondônia, Brazil. Pertinent taxonomic references. Ávila-Pires (1995), Colli et al. (1998), Fitzgerald et al. (1999), Harvey et al. (2012), Murphy et al. (2016).

Distribution and habitat. Tupinambis longilineus is endemic to Amazonia, with its distribution restricted to the interfluvium Purus–Tapajós, in southern Amazonia, occurring in Brazil and Peru ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). In Brazil it is known from the states of Pará, Amazonas, and Rondônia. Tupinambis longilineus is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits terra firme forest, also at its border with disturbed areas, where is found on the ground ( Ávila-Pires 1995; Lima & Pimenta 2008; Moraes et al. 2016).
